How to use Antiviral Disinfectant in fogging machines

A fogging machine is a versatile piece of equipment that uses a disinfectant spray to restrict the growth of mould in a specific area. Since the Covid-19 pandemic began, fogging machines have become one of the most popular products in terms of sanitising surfaces.

Our fog machines create a fog in the room, however depending on the size of the area that requires the treatment, the professional cleaners can have the job completed in a few minutes. The mist will need time to settle and work, which could mean your premises could be shut for a few hours while the sanitation takes effect. Once the mist has settled and a good amount of time has passed, then the fog will disappear.

Equipment & Preparation

To begin the preparation, wash your hands with antibacterial soap and water, then sanitise with alcohol gel. Place the safety signs on the floor to warn people that cleaning is in progress. Remove all soft furnishings or cover with a polythene sheet before fogging.

We advise you wear the correct PPE, such as protective gloves, coveralls and an FFP3 face mask. The antiviral face mask is recommended as one of the best, providing the highest protection and excellent movement. Ensure everyone has left the area before fogging and turn off any ventilation or air conditioning systems. Switch off and cover any sensitive electrical equipment.

How does fogging work?

To start this process, use antiviral disinfectant at a ratio of approximately 1 Litre per 100m3 area. Remember to fog according to machine manufacturers. After the fogging has taken place, wash hands and any other contaminated areas of the body with soap and water. Allow the surfaces to dry as normal before returning the area to use. Finally, wash hands with antibacterial soap and then dry with a disposable towel. When using do not eat, drink, or smoke. Do not ingest. This is not a medicine. Use biocides safely and sustainably.
